Greetings! We are John and Jan Spencer owners of Rockin' Horse Farms located in beautiful Fort Scott, Kansas; a small town nestled 5 miles from the Missouri border and just 75 miles south of Kansas City. We have owned and enjoyed horses a number of years through John's days of cavalry reenactment, to my bid in the show ring, but a trail ride in the early 90's provided our first exposure to the Rocky Mountain Horse and an impression not to be forgotten. After researching the breed for several years we finally purchased our first Rocky in 1997, and thus began our love affair with the Rockies! With enthusiasm and a realization how rare this breed was to our part of the country, John and I launched the beginnings of Rockin' Horse Farms in 1998.

In 2003, we purchased a beautiful black stallion, Tim's Mountain Son, sired by Clemon's Tim. We felt certain his conformation and wonderful Rocky Mountain gait, together with the refinement of our broodmares would only enhance the quality of foals produced here at Rockin' Horse Farms. We were right! Please visit our Yearling and Two year old section in the sale barn for a look at quality made perfect while preserving the old Rocky Mountain bloodlines.

With great pleasure in seeing the demand for the natural gaited Rocky Mountain Horse, we are proud of our Rockies who now grace the states of Kansas, Missouri, North Carolina, Mississippi, and Colorado with their presence.
